Transport yourself to another place and time, atop a hill in mid-July, where rows of lavender, planted by the dozen form a sea of purple. The aroma will greet any guest miles before reaching this magical destination’s doorstep, Lavenwood Farms.

Only an hour north of New York City, all are welcome to visit Michelle and Nick’s fields. Here, you can pick seasonal flowers, enjoy a workshop with local artists, or even make a reservation for a candlelit dinner in the middle of a breathtaking flower field. Lavenwood is also equipped with an “outpost” store for pre-built bouquets, and a plethora of products both handmade, and created from lavender distilled right on the farm.

Within four short years, Michelle and Nick have managed to secure and transform this one of a kind location into rows of blooming lavender fields. The idea behind Lavenwood Farms, is to have guests come and enjoy the evolution of this farm as it continues to grow. This space was intended to invite creators, artists, locals, and non-locals alike to “dive in” and find delight amongst the lavender and surrounding floral gardens.

This is definitely a place to visit, and will need to be built into everyones yearly, monthly, or weekly schedule.

With the start of fall fast approaching, Lavenwood is already quickly captivating the essence of autumn with their blooming sunflowers, as their surrounding eco-system also changes colors. To see more as fall continues, visit their Instagram, Pinterest, or website. Here, Lavenwood Farm partner, Mel captures Lavenwood Farms to utter perfection.

The Lavenwood Family also encourages everyone, both near and far to visit their local farms of all variations, and take part in surrounding agricultural communities. Local farms are not a thing of the past, but a connection to cultivating goods, and products that we all love and enjoy, like lavender.
